2002 FIM SUPERSIDE WORLD SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP

" PRESS RELEASE "

PREVIEW - Round 4 SILVERSTONE, UK, 26th May

Racing at your home Grand Prix, always brings a smile to a competitor. With the thought of not having to travel miles across the continent, ferries, fuel and toll costs, Team Founds are looking forward to competing at Silverstone. This is the first time the Superbike and Sidecar World Championships have been to Silverstone, since the early 80's. With only the likes of veterans SteveWebster, and Steve Abbott having raced at Silverstone, all the SUPERSIDE competitors will be aiming to learn the track as quick as possible.

The fabulous Silverstone circuit is located just off the M1 near Northampton and is some 4.5km in length. The circuit has been host for the F1 Cars, for some years, with modifications being made to the layout of the track, within the last 3 years. The circuit must rate amongst the fastest circuits within the World Championship calendar and certainly will again favor those with fast engines and good technical set-up. Names such as Woodcote, Copse Corner and Hangar Straight, will be a constant reminder to all competitors that they are at the home of the British Grand Prix.

Having scored more valuable points in Round 3 at Monza, Italy and moving up the Championship table to 14th, the Team will be looking to secure a regular top 12 finish at this round and all future events. Chris explained, " As this is our first time at Silverstone, we will need to learn the circuit very quickly and try to ensure we get the maximum out of the bike." Pete stated, " We are looking forward to the event and having done some extra practicing between Monza and Silverstone, and feel confident we can secure more Championship points."

You can follow the progress of the Team through the official World Championship website @ www.superside.com and the Teams' own site @ www.teamfoundsracing.com. Anyone coming along to Silverstone is welcomed to visit the Team in the paddock and we look forward to your support.

Thanks and best wishes
Chris Founds, Team Principal
