SUPERSIDE FIM Sidecar World Championship
Round 6 - Misano, San Marino, Italy - 22nd, 23rd June.
Last year the Team finished well at this circuit
with a solid 11th place. Coming off the back of a good result at Lausitzring
Eurospeedway in Germany, we are hoping that this can be repeated if not
improved upon. We have worked hard in the week between events to sort
out the comfort issues for Chris, and now believe that we have it right
for the rest of the year.
Misano is a twisty left-handed circuit, which
suits the Team's 1000cc R1 Yamaha powered LCR outfit. The Circuit is some
4 km in length and 14m wide in places, making passing a bit easier, than
at other circuits. Misano is located just outside Rimmini on the Adriatic
coast of Itlay. The event is called the San Marino Round, as the small
independent Royal principality of San Marino, is only 10km from the event
and Italy already hosts two other rounds. The track being on the coast,
can be plagued by wind-blown sands, but if treated with care, is an exciting
track to race at.
The Team are hoping that they can qualify
inside the top 10 and further improve on their starting technique, which
after Lausitzring, Eurospeedway, has hopefully been cured !!
Chris explains, " After a top 10 finish
at Lausitz, my confidence is growing and I feel that we have a better
package for the rest of the season. We need to qualify well at Misano,
to be pulled along with the fast runners, in the pack", " We
are continually improving the bike and hope that our 100% reliability
can be maintained." Currently 13th in the Championship, but a lot
closer to the teams above them, we will be pushing hard for a good result.
The boys are also keen to hear from anyone,
with potential sponsor contacts, or other funding ideas, to be sure that
they can sustain a serious Championship challenge, with 5 rounds remaining.
The Team offer a great facility for corporate hospitality, which includes
: a three day paddock pass, food, drinks and entertainment, courtesy of
Team Founds Racing. Details of the package can be found on the Team's
website @ www.teamfoundsracing.com. Keep an eye on the Team's progress
and look at the latest pictures from Silverstone and Lausitzring @ www.superside.com
Thanks for your continued support and lets
hope the results continue…….
Best Wishes
