SUPERSIDE FIM Sidecar World Championship
Round 7 - Brands Hatch, 26th, 27th, 28th, July.

Last year the Team finished well at Brands, with an 11th place. Currently lying 12th in the Championship and with only 8 points separating about 6 teams, consistent finishes will allow the Team to battle for a top ten finish. Traditionally the "European round" at Brands is well attended, usually by a very partisan crowd, which always gives a home rider, great support. A lot of UK based Teams treat Brands as a second British round, with significantly reduced travelling, no ferries or difficult border crossings !

The Team have raced at Brands for the last three years and enjoy the varied nature of the Kent circuit. The 4.2km GP Circuit is spectacular in its woodland setting and has some difficult corners such as "Dingle Dell" and the daunting but spectacular "Paddock Hill Bend".
Brands is not for the faint hearted and requires a rider to attack every corner and carry as much speed onto the relatively short straights, as possible. For a passenger, there is little opportunity to rest, as many of the straight sections the passenger has to work, keeping the bike stable and preventing wheelspin.

The Team have continued to improve the bike throughout the season, and will be trying a new undertray at Brands, which they have designed and manufactured, to assist aerodynamics and engine cooling. The Team have also gained the support of FM Helmets (Lintek Gleave) in providing new lids for Brands, with a jazzy new range of "Tom and Jerry" designs, which will hopefully attract some interest on behalf of FM.

The Team are still keen to hear from anyone with potential sponsor contacts, or other funding sources, to ensure the rest of the Championship is strongly contested. The Team will be providing hospitality for supporters and sponsors at Brands, and look forward to seeing you there !
